A two week break in December and one week in March can be expected. We observe all statutory holidays. The course is 1000 hours in duration.
Am I responsible for finding my own models?
When beginning to learn the various skills (manicures, pedicures, facials, working with electrical equipment, hair removal, make-up and cosmetic massage) the students begin with working on each
other, as their skill improves family and friends are invited to be models, and eventually taking public models. As it is important to learn how to build a client base, we help our students by teaching some marketing and networking skills. If students are not able to find models we will certainly provide assistance in order to ensure you have as much practical experience to prepare you for your first job or to assist you with starting a beauty business.
Do professors hold office hours, will they meet outside of class time if needed?
We are here to ensure your success, if required our instructors will make themselves available for meetings with our students outside of their scheduled class time.
What is a typical day like?
Classes run 9 – 5 Monday to Friday, with one hour lunch. We have tried to ensure a variety of instructors to help keep the modules fresh and varied in content delivery. 500 hours are in class and 500 hours are practical lab. Classroom instructor led, classroom discussions, individual projects and group discussions can be expected.
I already have work experience related to some of the courses – but now I want to obtain a diploma in Esthetics?
